Manufacturing Quality Engineer and Production Engineering jobs in Surrey.  Zest Medical are working in partnership with a leading UKAS accredited test laboratory that supply eyewear to the retail optical markets worldwide.  Due to expansion they require a Quality Engineer with experience within Manufacturing Production with experience in the 'Light Industry' sectors.  As Quality Engineer you will be a key member of the Test Laboratory team and is involved with all day to day testing and verification activities undertaken by the Test Laboratory.

You will need to be able to demonstrate a strong production & manufacturing background with experience of management systems ie: Quality Management ISO9001.  You will have awareness and knowledge of the UKAS accreditation board and REACH guidelines.  This role has the potential for promotion and staff management so candidates demonstrating that ambition will be sought after. Ultimately you will be highly motivated with sound technical knowledge but also have the ability to communicate effectively for this supervisory role.

The position ideally requires an individual who can quickly gain understanding of the various manufacturing methods used to produce the components for glasses and will be able to apply this knowledge to issues that arise.  As a guide some common knowledge in the following fields would be an advantage:  Plastic moulding, Lens manufacture and finishing, Plating and vacuum deposition, Some knowledge of materials and component tolerances, Handling, assembly, inspection and testing of optical/instrument assemblies and any understanding of manufacturing and distribution methodologies and systems within a busy business serving retail markets
